Introduction

Hi! I'm John Mantz and I am currently a sophomore IDD major at Quinnipiac University. I have always loved to draw since I was a little kid, and tend to prefer the fun, cartoonish style of drawing, as oppose to the more life-like, realistic illustrations. My favorite Adobe program, as of now, is Adobe Illustrator. I wouldn't consider myself a master, but I am very comfortable with the tools and have a lot of fun with the program. There is so much that you can do with it, and it's is great for creating that cartoonish style of work that I like. I never really did any drawing on the computer until college, but I've really fallen in love with it. In fact, I now prefer it to standard pencil and paper drawing. The possibilities are almost endless with Illustrator, and i love to see my thoughts and sketches translate into colorful, interesting digital art work on the screen. I have done some pretty good work in Illustrator, but I am always looking to improve my skills. I'm hoping to take a lot out of this class, and will hopefully learn a lot of useful information about flash and animation. As a matter of fact, after college my dream job would be to work in the field of animation, whether it be for television shows, commercials, video games, movies, or whatever else calls for the skills of an animator. Like I said earlier, I love to draw, and really love the idea of seeing my work move and come to life. I'm hoping to learn a lot from this class, so it can help me take a big step toward the future that I'm hoping for.
